HOW TO CONFIGURE YOUR FREEDOM CLIENT & OPEN VPN(Beginners Guide)

  is to teach  anybody who is interested in using your freedom client as a tunneling software or as a free gprs browsing application. Am a Nigerian and i have used your freedom client many times in the past free of charge on Nigerian networks like Airtel, Mtn, glo, etisalat and multi-links one time or the other (though none is working for now). I must let you know that your freedom is not design basically to byepass tolls but it is design to be used as a internet tunneling software to encrypt your online activities, to bypass firewall, byepass proxies and stay annonymous  YOU CAN LEARN MORE HERE .BE that as it may, most countries are lucky to be able to use your freedom client to bypass their network providers billing servers if that happens after following my tutorial then good for you but i repeat my tutorial is not based on the free browsing aspect of your freedom client but it rather based on teaching a layman who just want to start using your freedom client how to get connected on it.

NOW TO HOW TO CONFIGURE YOUR FREEDOM CLIENT

The picture above is the typical window of your freedom client when opened for the first time how
Requirements :
-your freedom client(downloadable from their site)
-java runtime(Download it here)
-openvpn(downloadable here)

Now the first thing you neeed to do is to register an account on their site by following the link below

==>NOW THE STEPS:

-Install your freedom, make sure you ignore or cancel the welcome message
– the freedom window will then be displayed before then choose your language (preferably english U.S.A)
-Click on configure tab from the configuration window  as shown in the screenshot above
-On the configuration tab, tick the first three boxes,ignore the fourth tick the following three and ignore the last box

 

(Note: you can use the wizard but it is better you do it manually)

-still on the same configuration window in the Server address type your freedom server which could be numeric or inform of e.g ems05.your-freedom.de (When i was using it free on glo mobile nigeria i use to put glo’s freesite wap.gloworld.com)

-goto the last bar which is connection mode there choose HTTP automatically the port box above will change to 80 or 443 or 8080 depending on your connection mode
– So we now have the following: ems05.your-freedom.de
                                                    PORT: 443 
                                                   CONNECTION MODE: HTTPS

-Still on the same window click on account information there you will fill in the username and password that you have earlier registered

-Now you may go to Proxy settings (this is optioan infact unless you are trying to use your freedom client to bypass your network providers billing then leave this blank which is default)  there you should input the following if you must put anything here though, then it must be your internet ip address and port

-Save and exit
you will be returned to the front or main window click on PORTS tab then mark everything there i mean web proxy port,socks 4/5,open vpn port, e.t.c.

That is all if you are using your freedom client without open vpn

You can now set your browser (e.g mozilla firefox, google chrome , opera browser e.t.c) proxy server to localhost Port:8080 (this wont be necessary if you are using it with open vpn)

set your yahoo messenger9 connection setting to localhost Port:1080 -(NOTE: this wont be necessary if you are using it open vpn)

NOW YOU CAN CONNECT YOUR FREEDOM CLIENT AND ONCE THE DOOR OPENS  START YOUR  browser and start web browsing

==>HOW TO CONFIGURE OPENVPN ON YOUR FREEDOM CLIENT<==
You must know that the best thing that can happen to you is for you to use your freedom in open vpn mode.The advantages are limitless ranging from ability of all applications on your computer to get connected directly to the internet without any hassle or special configuration as if you are using a broadband internet connection.I mean once openvpn is up and running on your freedom, all you need todo is to start any application that require internet connection on your pc e.g skype, yahoo messenger anti virus update e.t.c and you are online

After installing Open VPN.
click on start>>control>> panel>> network connection. Right click the network connection that has TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 driver, then click on properties. Scroll down then click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), then click on properties. Click on Use the following DNS server manually and enter: Prefered DNS Server: 85.214.18.161
Alternate DNS Server: 85.214.100.186 Then Click on OK That is all pls you can now start any application or browser on your Pc without setting your browser to localhost:8080 it is a direct connection software. Not guaranteed to work well on windows vista but it should work well on windows7 and xp  though

USING OPENVPN WITH YOUR BROWSERS<===

-once you have started your connection you will have to wait untill something like a moon shines on your freedom client window, pls make sure your browsers and application is set to connect directly or no proxy.

==>HOW TO CONFIGURE MOZILLA FIREFOX TO USE  YOUR FREEDOM<==

: For Firefox(Mozilla) brower: Go to: Tools—Options—- Advanced—Network—Settings. In the settings mark the box “Manual proxy configuration. Under HTTP Proxy use: localhost Port: 8080. Or 127.0.0.1 port 8080Mark/tick/ check the box ” use this proxy server for all protocols”. After this just go down and click “OK”. Enjoy the best of fbt on your freedom with gloria while it last

=>IMPORTANT NOTICE TO WINDOWS VISTA and WINDOWS7 USERS<==

We often get asked if Your Freedom runs on Windows Vista. Yes, it does. But that’s only the short answer. The long answer is that you need to be aware of a few things and take appropriate measures. Don’t use the full installer version(that’s the 28 meg one). The full installer version comes bundled with a version of Java that is not running very well under Vista and windows7, if at all. Install a current Java Runtime Environment (I recommend Sun’s JDK6 available from this site’s download section or the link below this post. and use the installer version or the ZIP version of Your Freedom. When using the installer version and you would like to run YF in dump mode, or if you are using OpenVPN mode, don’t simply click on the start menu item to run it but right-click and choose “Run as administrator”(this simply means if openvpn doesn’t want to run on your windows7 or vista then you should run openvpn in administrator mode). If you don’t YF won’t be able to write the dump file in the install directory and it won’t be able to install routes into the tunnel in the routing table.
